Problem & Solution: Does This Case Come Out My Way?
There are a million little things that bother me about legal research. Spending time on a case only to later realize that it comes out the wrong way is just one example. Here's how midpage fixes it.
The Problem:
You enter a query and glance at a slate of 90 responsive cases. The top results sound helpful, but you have to take a closer look before you start pulling quotes into your brief.
So you open up case 1 of 90 and dive in. It takes a few minutes to get your bearings. Your inner monologue might sound something like this as you scan through it:
Eventually, you realize the case comes out the wrong way. Those helpful quotes you pulled are not so helpful after all, and you will need to remember to avoid or distinguish the case later. Bummer. Move to case 2 of 91, and repeat.
The Solution:
Start a new session on midpage and enter some basic information (your motion type and your desired outcome). When you search, you will see a tag indicating whether it is likely to be favorable or not before you even open the case. Start with the favorable ones. You can always override our suggestion.
